Why People Trust Hunt

Heirloom gold jewelry redesign calls for a thoughtful process.

I love working with your gold

Most goldsmiths aren’t willing to work with heirloom jewelry. To me, the emotional weight of working with sentimental materials far outweighs the extra time and care it takes to work with.

Made by someone who knows your story

From our first conversation to the final polish, I’m the person designing, fabricating, and finishing your jewelry, right here in Canada. You’ll always know who made it and who to come back to for a lifetime of care.

Jewelry without the mystery

Jewelry is personal, but buying it can feel intimidating. You deserve to understand the materials and how your jewelry is made. I’ll share what I know openly so you can make thoughtful decisions.

Hunt is a one-woman jewelry studio in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where every piece is made with intention, care, and a deep respect for the materials and stories behind it. Whether I’m transforming a family heirloom or creating something entirely new, my goal is the same: jewelry that becomes part of your life.

From Clients

A few notes I’ve kept.

“Gorgeous earrings from a true Canadian artisan! From first contact, through sketches and design discussion, to delivery in Nova Scotia on my vacation, working with Rachel was a delight. She was responsive to my style, produced sketches to prompt my feedback, and came up with a design I will love for years!”
— Lisa S. · Victoria, BC
“Rachel made me feel comfortable right from the beginning. She worked within my budget. The whole process was seamless from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier, and I couldn’t have chosen a better person to make us our ring.”
— Dave S. · Port Dover, ON
“Rachel is an exceptional goldsmith whose talent is matched by her collaborative approach to design. She explained each option, outlined the considerations behind every decision, and make be feel informed and confident throughout the entire process. The finished piece is stunning! I’m already planning my next commission. “

A trinity ring that she wears every dayKate always knew she wanted to have something special made with her parents’ rings. When she heard about Hunt, we met up for iced tea and chatted for hours. A few weeks later, her trinity ring on her finger, with three bands woven together forever: one for her mom, one for her dad, and one for her.

Her now-husband Dave added his personal touches. Together, we can all agree: it’s the perfect ring for Lierin, made with love and care at every step.

The hardest part isn’t knowing what something is worth. It’s knowing what it could become.
