Lierin’s Engagement Ring & Wedding Band
When Lierin saw “the ring” on my Instagram, she recognized herself in it right away. This is the story of how her wedding set came to be, and how the people she loves each found a place in it.
A ring that instantly felt right
Before I started Hunt Fine as a business, I posted what I made to my personal Instagram account’s stories. When Lierin saw “the ring,” she recognized herself in it right away and sent me a message.
We immediately started scheming about how to make it even more personal with a pink diamond. There’s nothing more fun than designing jewelry together!
After some gentle prodding, (“I need to wait for you to post the ring I like so I can forward it to my best friend to keep for future reference 😂”), I finally caved and started the Hunt Fine account.

Her husband’s love in the details
When Dave got in touch, he knew the ring Lierin had fallen for, and my messages with her gave us a great place to start. He wanted her to have a ring she could wear every day. Lierin works with her hands, so he asked for a low, protective setting that would keep it safe through her workday.
We kept the scalloped setting she loved from the start. Then we shaped the rest around her life: a pink sapphire, a tapered band, and flush-set moissanites for extra sparkle.
Dave and I combed through dozens and dozens of pink diamonds, sapphires, and spinels, but it was the depth of colour we found in sapphires that really impressed Dave.
And of course, when Dave presented the ring, Lierin responded with a resounding “yes!”

It is so perfect. I love it so much.
The colour of the gold is so perfect and I’m really happy he chose a pink sapphire so it’s more pink. I can’t stop staring at it
And it’s so comfortable!

Then came the wedding band
A few months later, Lierin and Dave came back to ask me to make her wedding band. We chose a curved band that nests beautifully with her engagement ring.
To make it even more special, I set five of her grandpa’s heirloom diamonds into the band. They sit in the same setting style as the accent stones on her engagement ring, so the two rings belong together.
